Profile
“My goal is to provide therapy that is catered to the individual and collaborative.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I believe that therapy is a private space where you can put aside the fear of judgment and pick up tools for personal growth to progress toward balance and peace. I completed my undergraduate studies at State University of New York at Potsdam and received my Master of Social Work degree from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. I have worked in higher education as a staff therapist in New York and specialize in child and adolescent psychotherapy, parent education and skill-building, and experiences of trauma and PTSD. I provide mental health and wellness services in person or via telemedicine to a diverse student population.
What should someone know about working with you?
My goal is to provide therapy that is catered to the individual and collaborative. Therapy is most effective as a collaborative effort in which both of us enter with an expertise, mine as a compassionate therapist and yours as the expert on you and your needs. My clients arrive at therapy seeking to cope with past and present experiences of trauma, family dysfunction, depression and anxiety, and systems that diminish mental health and wellness. To schedule an initial appointment, clients are able to call or email the office and complete a brief screening. Prior to an initial appointment, paperwork is provided to each client via email.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am thrilled that telehealth is now an option, as it provides an opportunity for populations and communities to access services that have not been readily available in the past. Telehealth also helps increase healthcare value and affordability. Clients are now able to connect with providers without having limitations and barriers to treatment, including but not limited to transportation and financial issues.
