Profile
“I combine both expressive holistic interventions and medical model guidance to facilitate my sessions and help clients heal.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have practiced and lived in many different countries around the world and understand how trauma can be both collectively and individually experienced by everyone. I have worked in many different settings, including community, crisis, student counseling, and private practice and utilize the knowledge learned. I combine both expressive holistic interventions and medical model guidance to facilitate my sessions and help clients heal.
What should someone know about working with you?
I complete a full assessment of the difficulties and provide treatment plans with collaborative goals. I provide psychoeducation on the issues, complete with handouts, reading, and worksheets. I use EFT, ART, and complex trauma skills in my work. I am invested in helping clients find skills to help themselves through future difficulties.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
I am passionate about counseling and the benefits it can bring and see it as a mental health investment so that clients can move forward in life and be who they were meant to be.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
Due to the world's traumatic events, there is an increased need for trauma therapy. Recent research, conferences, and workshops have helped me keep my learning up-to-date in the areas of neurobiology, psychoeducation, and the new techniques and skills to help clients heal.
Have you done any research-based work that you found particularly exciting? How does it inform your practice today?
I have completed research on assessments and how they can help when assigning treatment plans and specific goals to clients. I have also researched emotional intelligence and worked with colleagues around the world to present on these topics.
Why do clients come to see me?
Most of my clients report that they want to increase their resiliency in the face of difficult events or adversity. I can show them a way forward by identifying blocks in functioning and providing the insight and skills to move forward.
“I am invested in helping clients find skills to help themselves through future difficulties.”
