What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I always knew I wanted to work in a field where I was helping others. It wasn’t until I started my own therapy that I decided I wanted to become a therapist. I worked in the nonprofit sector for over seven years where I gained a tremendous amount of experience that has shaped me into a better clinician.
What should someone know about working with you?
I’m down to earth and have a good sense of humor. I mostly use a client-centered approach.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I’m always taking different types of trainings and reading up on mental health techniques.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
I treat my clients as I want to be treated.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I’m excited about telehealth and incorporating more mindfulness into my practice.
