What was your path to becoming a coach? What inspired you to choose this profession?
After working for a luxury fashion brand, fast-paced publishing company, and building an award-winning marketing firm of my own, it was a personal health crisis, devastating divorce, and the death of a close family member that drove me to reprioritize my energy and refine my sense of purpose. My training as a Gestalt facilitator and coach, birth doula, trauma-informed yoga teacher, and dancer, combined with my studies in positive psychology and neuroanatomy, have provided me with a deeper understanding of how interconnected our organism is. I use the same best practices and tools that have increased psychological and physical wellbeing in my own life with clients, supporting them in leading lives with greater joy, ease, and purpose.
What would you want someone to know about working with you?
My process is accessible, compassionate, and filled with respect and space for clients to follow their own inherent wisdom. Clients can expect an integrated experience that engages the head, the heart, and the hand. Our sessions will explore thinking, feeling, and doing. My sessions are collaborative and can include a powerful combination of intellectual rigor, authentic connection, and physical expression to foster an embodied experience of whole-person wellbeing.
How does collaboration with other providers play into your work?
My process supports clients to proactively prevent or heal illness and promote a higher level of health and wellbeing through a positive, future-focused partnership. We'll focus on exploring current and desired states of being and work to clarify future vision, implement goals, and sustain behaviors that are conducive to optimal health and happiness. There are times when additional support is needed in the form of medical care, nutritional advice, or mental health. I frequently partner with doctors, nurses, and mental health professionals to assist individuals and families in sustaining personal care and health maintenance activities, and in reducing the negative impact of chronic conditions such as Lyme disease, autoimmune conditions, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes. In addition to collaboration between myself and outside support, my sessions support clients in building a relationship with themselves and learning to listen to and trust the inner wisdom of their bodies.
If there was one thing you wish people knew about the coaching experience who might be hesitant to try it, what would that be?
Our time together is co-created and focused on both building awareness and achieving results. I am well-versed in the business landscape (left brain), while my experience, training, and intuitive nature (right brain) allows me to integrate, hold space, and support clients from a multiplicity of perspectives and modalities. I offer an integrated, whole-brain approach that responds to a client’s current needs, is based in research, and is driven by results.
What excites you most about the evolving health and wellness landscape?
I'm excited by the research behind mindfulness, the importance of movement and play on our social engagement and overall well-being, and the greater acceptance of integrated approaches. Neuroanatomy discoveries are proving what healers have always known: that we are integrated and interconnected beings.
