“My experience and dedication to helping clients reach their optimal functioning level are made possible through the development of a strong therapeutic alliance.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I hold an MSEd but soon discovered in my first year of teaching that mental health challenges impaired a child's educational attainment. I quickly became dedicated to acquiring the skills needed to support a child's social and emotional development. I later enrolled in a mental health counseling program while working as a life coach at the Children's Aid Society in the South Bronx. During my tenure, I provided counseling services to children, adolescents, and families in the areas of anxiety, depression, cultural assimilation, identity issues, sexuality, ADHD, autism, grief, and more. I currently serve as a school clinical manager at the Northside Center for Child Development and Iām the founder of Individual Path, LLC. My experience and dedication to helping clients reach their optimal functioning level are made possible through the development of a strong therapeutic alliance.
What should someone know about working with you?
My therapeutic process first focuses on building a working relationship with the client. Doing so allows me to understand their perspective of the world and how they experience it. The treatment modalities used are customized to meet each client's needs because the path toward wellness is different for each person.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I engage in ongoing professional development and join peer support groups.
