Profile
“I have over 20 years of experience in mental health and hold licenses in Florida, New York, and New Jersey as well as a National Certified Counselor distinction”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I started as a pre-med student on a path to becoming a pathologist and found myself much more interested and fascinated by mental and cognitive phenomena. After completing my undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in philosophy, I entered graduate school to pursue a career in the healing arts. In addition to clinical work, I developed and oversaw many organizations all over the US, delivering both medical and mental health services.
What should someone know about working with you?
I have over 20 years of experience in mental health and hold licenses in Florida, New York, and New Jersey as well as a National Certified Counselor distinction. I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues, including general outpatient concerns, marital/couples counseling, substance abuse, children, and adolescents. I have received specialized training in many areas, including career counseling, marriage/family, gender and sexual issues, behavior management, abuse, developmental disabilities, child and adolescent, hypnosis, and more.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
As a perpetual student, I am always involved in both formal and informal learning.
