“I believe that providing a supportive, judgment-free, and safe space allows people to feel understood and empowered to make change.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have always been drawn to people and their stories and believe listening to the unique experiences of others has been a true gift. I started my career working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness. I was in awe of their strength and resiliency despite their challenges. Throughout my career, I have worked with vast populations, from children and teens to adults and seniors. Whether my clients are struggling with foster care, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or loss, the single common denominator is that they deserve the opportunity to enjoy life.
What should someone know about working with you?
I complete a psychosocial assessment to help each client identify what areas in their life they would like to address. I utilize several techniques in therapy as I feel that there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution. I believe that providing a supportive, judgment-free, and safe space allows people to feel understood and empowered to make change.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
I am a social worker before I am anything else; I believe that I have the honor and the duty to stand up for the vulnerable and empower others to master their lives.
