What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I became a mental health counselor to work within my community to provide an outlet. I have worked with clients who have transitioned from inpatient hospitalization and children who have endured anxiety of varying degrees. My ideal for my practice is to assist with guiding a person toward understanding how their emotions and thoughts interact.
What should someone know about working with you?
While I do work with clients regarding action plans, I like to provide progress reports based on the client’s own reporting.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I continue to research and keep myself updated on current therapeutic techniques through books in addition to seminars. I am interested in learning more about neurofeedback and its therapeutic qualities.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
I think that we all are evolving and learning no matter where we are in life. It is important to understand that as nature changes, so do people depending on their circumstances.
