Profile
“I have a solid medical background and have incorporated this knowledge into helping clients heal psychologically as well as physically.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Before I was a therapist, I was a critical care nurse. I have a solid medical background and have incorporated this knowledge into helping clients heal psychologically as well as physically.
What should someone know about working with you?
I do an intake evaluation with my client in approximately 10-15 minutes during our initial visit. I occasionally assign homework but not often. I like working with children of all ages, couples, families, and adults.
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
I am an energy expert and continue with ongoing training. I am a reiki master and currently taking a hypnosis course. My continuing education is ongoing.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
In my opinion, people do not take care of their mental health as much as they should. What they probably don't realize is that the body follows the mind. If the mind is not healthy, the body will eventually get sick.
Have you done any research-based work that you found particularly exciting? How does it inform your practice today?
I have done a lot of research about energy and how our perceptions of situations impact our physical health. It was what inspired me to write my book, Healing your Body by Mastering your Mind, which was released in November of 2020.
How does the body get sick?
A disease, illness, or symptom develops when energy is blocked inside the body. Unfortunately, many of us have little understanding of what causes it and how to correct it. I can offer insight into living a physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy life by listening to and interpreting the body's messages.
