What should someone know about working with you?
I started my combined bachelor's and master's in psychology right after graduating from high school. Psychology and philosophy were the subjects that I liked the most. During my formative years and in parallel to the school courses, I took classes and training in different psychological orientations and found myself totally focused on psychodynamic psychotherapy. My constant training led me to become a member of the World Association of Psychoanalysis, hold teaching positions at universities, and develop a career as a supervisor and clinical director in different agencies (in addition to working in my private practice, which has been ongoing for more than 30 years).
What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?
As clinical director, I keep myself informed about the laws and regulations of the practice. My work as a clinical supervisor with professionals of diverse backgrounds allows me to stay up-to-date on any new developments and trends in our field. My work as a teacher, as well as my membership in international professional organizations, leads me to constantly study. My practice is enriched not only by my direct experience with clients but also by supervising and being supervised by very diverse professionals in the areas of technique, origin, and culture.
