Profile
“As I continued to navigate life and experience my own adversity, it became even more important for me to pursue a career where I could walk with others through their own adverse experiences and help them come out of those dark times even more resilient.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Wanting to help others was always a part of my character and becoming a therapist was a calling that I’ve felt compelled to pursue ever since I was a teenager. As I continued to navigate life and experience my own adversity, it became even more important for me to pursue a career where I could walk with others through their own adverse experiences and help them come out of those dark times even more resilient. My own methods of alternative healing have shaped the offerings in my private practice; if they have helped me, I believe they will help others.
What should someone know about working with you?
In working with me, you should know that transparency and authenticity are two important processes that I hope are mutually-present. I will always compassionately provide my insights and challenge you to see yourself in a deeper or more wholesome way, even if it means encouraging you to share the unappealing stuff. I hope that you will share with me if something I am doing doesn’t feel helpful. Honesty and transparency are the foundations of a good therapeutic relationship, and I don’t believe those can exist without interpersonal authenticity.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
One of the core values that is most important for me to follow in life is integrity. Integrity, ethics, and value systems differ between different people. My own sense of identified ethical responsibility as a therapist can best be understood through my professional guiding principles, which include: Assisting each client in attaining an improved quality of life; assisting in dismantling repetitive generational patterns; and creatively choosing and using interventions that promote healing while promoting a feeling of safety.
