“In our sessions, I hope that you will feel comfortable enough to laugh, cry, stumble, and grow.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I grew up in a big, diverse family with parents who valued therapy and open, honest communication. I am not a good singer, can barely dance (though I love trying), and can't draw for the life of me, but what I can do is connect with people in a way that allows them to feel safe and understood. I grew up knowing that my voice and input have value and I want to empower others to feel the same. I believe in the power of numbers and want to help you get back to, recreate, or strengthen your village. I believe that we have an extraordinary ability to grow and heal if provided a safe and comfortable space to do so. I am passionate about my role in co-creating the transformative space that will allow you to face whatever challenges lay before you. You have the answers and I'd love to help you access them.
What should someone know about working with you?
I utilize a person-centered approach in order to ensure that therapy is moving at a pace that clients are most comfortable with while challenging disruptive thought and behavioral patterns in a direct, honest, and compassionate way.
How do your core values shape your approach to therapy?
Close connected relationships are a tremendous predictor of health and wellness. I want to help you feel connected to the people who matter the most while empowering you to speak up and challenge the things in your life that you want to change. In our sessions, I hope that you will feel comfortable enough to laugh, cry, stumble, and grow. I hope that you will feel comfortable showing the pieces of you that you may have felt the need to tuck away. One way that I strive to maintain the integrity of the client-therapist alliance is by welcoming feedback in terms of sessions and progress. This type of feedback allows me to tailor my services to your unique needs and experiences. There is no issue that you and I can't tackle with honest and respectful feedback. I am excited to meet YOU — imperfect, complicated, and limitless!
