Profile
“Empathetic listening, effective communication, and unconditional acceptance create a safe space for processing to occur, a strong therapeutic relationship to form, and positive coping skills to develop.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
Since an early age, the realm of counseling has been a playground my inner child has always run loose upon! From grade school to graduate education, various counseling-based internships and opportunities with diverse populations have nurtured this passion. I’ve worked in inpatient settings, substance use clinics, private practice, and teletherapy services. The need to feel supported and be genuinely heard/understood is what I believe many individuals seek. Counseling allows me to be an active source of therapeutic support in clients’ lives. I have engaged in therapy myself, so it’s of significant importance to me to meet people where they are mentally and emotionally and support them toward an improved quality of life while being someone they can relate to. I am thrilled to have found a career where I can grow as a person by serving others.
What should someone know about working with you?
I focus on psychodynamic theory, which helps clients identify patterns in thoughts and beliefs, recognize how past experiences relate to an individual's present self, and implement integrative interventions. Empathetic listening, effective communication, and unconditional acceptance create a safe space for processing to occur, a strong therapeutic relationship to form, and positive coping skills to develop. This relationship as well as my dedication to allowing my clients to be active parts of their treatment are essential and key elements to what I believe can lead to success and satisfaction.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am thrilled to see the changes happening in the field of therapy, especially how it's becoming more modern and accessible. These changes are helping destigmatize mental health and ignite conversations and care in different communities that previously lacked the opportunity for such. Seeing the evolution of the field parallel the evolution of society is restoring hope on many fronts. It’s a hope I'm proud to be a part of.
