“I’ve always had a passion for mental health and I enjoy working in this field.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have been in nursing for over 20 years. I’ve always had a passion for mental health and I enjoy working in this field. I have worked in outpatient clinics, emergency departments, partial hospitalization, and inpatient services. I started with telehealth a few years before the pandemic, and I am thoroughly comfortable seeing clients virtually.
What should someone know about working with you?
My intake process can be between 60-90 minutes, based on your preferences. We will identify areas of concern, develop a treatment plan, and set goals. Scheduled follow-ups are used to monitor progress.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
I am really excited about the present and future in regard to telehealth. Although telehealth is not new to healthcare, it has become more common and an accepted practice, allowing it to bridge healthcare gaps (especially in mental health). Being able to reach clients in the comfort of their homes has been paramount. Many of my clients are happy with virtual services, which decrease the need to travel or take time off from school or work. Most importantly, telehealth allows clients to receive the same level of care as an in-person session.
