Profile
“Through continuous self-growth, mindfulness, and self-awareness, you can regain control of your emotional health, return to a state of happiness, and achieve self-fulfillment.”
What was your path to becoming a therapist?
I have always been passionate about mental health and providing emotional support to others during their time of need. To me, there is nothing more meaningful than watching a client experience their major “aha!” moment. This is a moment of self-growth and empowerment! After working through my own struggles with anxiety and transitional life stressors, I am aware how draining these struggles are to your overall wellbeing. Through continuous self-growth, mindfulness, and self-awareness, you can regain control of your emotional health, return to a state of happiness, and achieve self-fulfillment.
What should someone know about working with you?
I am committed to providing services that are authentic, transparent, and true to self. During our time together, I will foster a supportive environment that allows the opportunity for self-growth, empowerment, validation, and the normalization of feelings. Therapy is a time where you prioritize your self-care while building on fundamental knowledge to regain control over your mental health. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach, which is why I utilize evidence-based practices with a modern therapy approach. In order to gain a better understanding of your presenting concerns, we explore the life experiences that have contributed to your automatic thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and core beliefs. Insight leads to knowledge and with knowledge comes power. With power, you acquire the strength to overcome anything that is holding you back from happiness and achieving your life goals.
How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?
My core values include authenticity, transparency, and individual growth. It is important to remember that the client is the expert in their own life, which means the client should have the autonomy to determine what they want and what they need from their therapeutic journey. I believe that a therapeutic relationship that offers purpose, meaning, and genuineness contributes to the overall healing process. Providing the client with a space where they can be their true self and allow for self-discovery creates room for empowerment.
What are you most excited about within the evolving mental health landscape?
Seeking therapy for the first time can make someone feel vulnerable. This isn’t only because you are opening up to a person who is a complete stranger, but also because of the stigma that continues to exist around therapy and mental health. Fortunately, the view regarding therapy and mental health is beginning to change. Therapy is being recognized as a space for self-care that expands your knowledge toward personal growth and empowerment. In therapy, you will train yourself to challenge the negative perceptions that have added to your anxieties and daily stressors and then begin to experience clarity on the issues that have held you back from feeling like yourself for years!
